Research summary

A feeding experiment examined amla powder as an additive in commercial broiler production.

Objective

Assess growth, feed conversion and production outcomes across four inclusion levels.

Methodology / scope

The six-week trial assigned 180 chicks to four groups, each with three replicates, receiving 0, 0.25, 0.50 or 0.75% amla powder.

Main findings

The highest inclusion group recorded the greatest final body weight and lowest overall feed conversion ratio. All groups had 100% survival.

Conclusion

The authors favored 0.75% inclusion under the study conditions; these results are not an individual animal feeding prescription.
